Long recognized as one of the direct response industry’s premier innovators and a pioneer in email communications, Al DiGuido (adiguido@yahoo.com) has over 20 years of marketing, sales, management and operations expertise that he brought to his role….fomerly… Chief Executive Officer of Epsilon Interactive.
As the former CEO of Expression Engines, Al assumed the leadership role at Bigfoot Interactive in 2001 during a merger of the two companies that yielded one of the most advanced email technology platforms on the market today.
Under Al’s guidance, Bigfoot Interactive has experienced significant growth. His successes include forging key various licensing and international strategic partnerships with companies such as Fujitsu and Mitsui & Co., assembling a solid group of investors that includes JPMorgan Partners, Flatiron Partners, Hudson Ventures and Grey Ventures, building a marquee Fortune 2000 client base and raising the bar for industry performance with continued product advancements and service offerings. Al’s dynamic leadership has also secured the company’s status as a pacesetter for strategic thought in email campaign development and industry-specific marketing automation technologies.
In early 2006, DiGuido was responsible for the sale of Bigfoot Interactive to Alliance Data for over $120mm.
Al actively participates in industry-shaping initiatives through his involvement in the Association for Interactive Marketing’s Council for Responsible Email and membership with the Direct Marketing Association. He is a regular contributing columnist for ClickZ and is an accomplished speaker, frequently presenting at high-profile forums such as the DMA/AIM Net.Marketing Conference, @d:tech, the DMA Annual Conference and was invited to be a feature speaker at the FTC Anti-Spam Forum. DiGuido currently serves as Vice Chairman for the DMA's Ethics Committee.
Prior to Bigfoot Interactive, Al served as executive vice president at Ziff-Davis, leading the company's e-commerce group to year-over-year record profitability and growth by establishing a new standard in online marketing. While at Ziff-Davis, Al also held the position of publisher of Computer Shopper, a franchise he successfully expanded into new print, broadcast and interactive channels. Under his direction, ComputerShopper.com, the magazine's breakthrough online buying service, accounted for more than 40 percent of the advertising revenue of ZDNet, one of the largest Internet properties. Al began his thirteen-year tenure at Ziff-Davis with PC magazine, where he held numerous positions including publisher.
Prior to Ziff-Davis, Al was vice president/advertising director for Sports, Inc., the sports business magazine published by the Sporting News division of Times Mirror. He also held senior management positions at Children's Television Network's magazine division and at Parade magazine.
In addition to his contributions to the email marketing community, Al is an equally committed and passionate contributor to the charitable organization Tomorrows Children’s Fund. Al’s work with the organization includes the coordination of several annual events and fundraising initiatives that have generated millions of dollars in contributions. In late '04 DiGuido formed Al's Angels; a non profit organization whose mission is to serve the needs of critically ill children and families suffering the ravages of cancer, rare blood diseases and poverty. Each year the Angels provides more than 1000 families with holiday meals and gifts during the season.
Al received his B.A. in political science from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York.
