Lauren Skena is the e-marketing manager for the National Geographic Society, one of the world's largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations in Washington D.C. Founded in 1888 to "increase and diffuse geographic knowledge," the Society works to inspire people to care about the planet. Lauren is responsible for managing the Society's email program, which includes commerce emails, editorial newsletters, and business-to-business emails for four NG magazine titles, online catalog, NG Channel, films, books, DVDs, maps, and interactive media. Her primary focus is to oversee the compliance, deliverability, and analytics of National Geographic's numerous monthly email campaigns. Prior to focusing on email at National Geographic, Lauren worked for The Direct Marketing Association and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
