James Kim VP, Strategy Organic, Inc.
James is an accomplished retailer, marketer, and researcher who is
passionate about understanding how to connect with consumers online. In
his role as VP, Strategy, he is responsible for partnering with our
clients to drive the overall account vision and help translate business
objectives into tangible marketing plans, concepts, and creative. James
joined Organic in 1999.
At Organic, James has focused on leading and advising projects in the
area of interactive marketing strategy across the online marketing mix,
user-experience strategy, competitive best practices, brand positioning,
interactive marketing ROI and audience segmentation and research. Key
clients include: macys.com, eBay Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Washington
Mutual, Yahoo! Personals, and Sprint. James also led key worldwide
"influencer-marketing" initiatives for Microsoft during his tenure as a
Vice President, Marketing at Modem Media/Digitas.
Prior to coming agency-side, James worked at Toyota Motor Sales,
Citibank, and Macy's. At Toyota, James initiated the development of the
long-range brand strategy for the Toyota and Lexus brands in the USA,
led various scenario planning and product planning efforts, developed
market and consumer forecasts, and led naming efforts, including the
Toyota Tundra. In addition, he led an internal team to improve Toyota's
dealership sales and service processes. James is a former retailer from
Macy's East, with extensive experience working in store-line,
buying-line, and regional merchandising responsibilities.
James is an automotive enthusiast who holds a BA from the University of
Pennsylvania and an MBA from the John M. Olin School of Business at
Washington University in St. Louis.
